Our School was founded by Sir John Cass over 300 years ago and to this day we remain proudly supported by our trustees, the Portal Trust.  The Aldgate School is the only maintained school in the City of London and we enjoy many benefits from this unique relationship.

Early Years Practitioner Vacancy (part time) - to start February or soon after

Band C salary range: £8,333 to £9,219 inclusive of London weighting

19 hours per week, term time only.

 

The Aldgate School is a Church of England primary school with integrated Children’s Centre in the heart of the City of London. We want the very best for our children and families. We believe that every child at our school is entitled to an exceptional education which lays firm foundations for their future. We require an early years practitioner to help us deliver exceptional childcare and education. We can offer you the chance to work in a unique Church of England primary school- the only maintained school and the Children’s Centre hub in the City. Because of our special setting you have the resources of London on your doorstep. We’re open 48 weeks of the year and provide childcare for children from 3 months to eleven years as well as a programme of Children’s Centre services. We are looking for an enthusiastic and well qualified early years practitioner to join our team supporting within our 0-3 age range for 2.5 days per week. You’ll make a significant contribution to our Children’s Centre taking responsibility for ensuring a high standard of physical, social, emotional and intellectual care for all of the children in the our setting. You’ll work term time only but there is the potential for work during school holiday periods if you are interested. We operate a system of early or late shifts because our setting is open from 7.45am to 6.00pm every day.

 

The successful candidate will be:
• Suitably qualified- NQF/NVQ Level 3 qualification in childcare, an NNEB or equivalent.
• Able to demonstrate their proven track record of working effectively with children in an Early Years setting;
• Committed to their own professional development and further study;
• Organised and accurate in observations and assessment of children’s developmental achievements;
• Motivated, enthusiastic and imaginative;
• Articulate and committed to high standards for all children;
• Hard-working, a great team player and excellent communicator;

• Committed to applying child-protection and safeguarding procedures;
